Atheists, what do you think of this statement?

Well if you take the theory that religion is the opiate of the oppressed, then it would provide enough of a lulling effect for some people who happen to be suicidal. I definitely think that wacko wiki you were for some reason browsing (for the lulz maybe) took that statistic way out of context and came to a false conclusion about what it means. I honestly think that if religion brings somebody happiness and they are not hurting others by it, let them have their opium.
