It is the belief of someone who treats their self and their emotions as a supreme god who has no ability for compassion for others. Those who follow a philosophy like this says there is not point to anything but their real intentions is the escape of the conscience so they can completely follow their emotions and desires without any hindrance. They don't treat there feelings as nothing just what ever gets in their way as nothing.

DePaul looks like it has a huge variety. I noticed some of the classes are taught under mixed disciplines. Which I think is a positive. I liked the sound of the course on critical thinking. Sometimes universities will only offer a class once every two years or so and it is hard to get in to. So even though the variety is great there is that to look in to. DePaul is also a Catholic school so that might influence the teaching and teachers. UIC looks more basic. But for an undergrad that is what you need. A solid foundation with good teachers. I would strongly suggest going to each campus and talking with a couple professors and students. Maybe even ask to sit in on a class. Student to teacher ratio is also very important. How do you learn best? How many teachers are full time vs. part time?

My red eared slider turtles are going nuts?

I have 3 red eared sliders (used to have 4, it's a very sad story, tell me if you want to hear it) and they won't stop moving. mostly they swim against the glass, but sometimes they pile on top of each other and slam onto the bottom of the tank. We just cleaned the tank but it gets horribly dirty in less than 1 week because the turtles keep stirring up the "bad stuff" on the bottom of the tank. All day and all night I hear them slamming against the tank and stirring up the pebbles. you might think that the sound of rattling gravel is calming and natural, but if it is *this* loud and *this* frequent, it gets *this* irritating. Literally, they won't stop moving for 10 seconds. When I get near them, they "stand up" and pound against the glass even more. The tank is beginning to crack on the side and I can't find peace and quiet anywhere downstairs. I can even hear the turtles when I'm playing a computer game upstairs with the volume turned up. Just recently, today, I have not even heard the rattling stop for 3 seconds and the tank is extremely dirty. They did not even do this a few months ago. I think that the turtles go even crazier when I approach because they are so hungry. They probably burn tons of energy like this. We bought a new large canister of turtle food less than 3 months ago, and it's already half gone. I can't even think about adding more gravel because they kick it aside into a pile within 2 minutes. I'm really worried about them, they are burning energy faster than they can eat, and I don't want any more to die. The tank gets so wavy from their motion that it looks like there is a tsunami inside. They keep me up because the rattling pebbles are so loud. Their shells banging against the tank are causing damage to their own shells and the tank. The rattling and banging are so disruptive that I don't even want my friend to come over anymore. please help, I'm worried for them

Which can get weird... but, the knives most likely represent two things, sexual desire and conflict. Them bleeding to death, this is a stretch, may have something to do with you feeling distanced from them. i don't know every aspect of your life so try to apply that to you situation. The house burning down is probably something to do with your values being challenged by this sexual desire/ conflict. The waking up in the hospital might have a lot to do with you not feeling in control of your own life or your situation. Being dehumanized may have something to do feeling like your changing into something else, and its not by your own choice, that goes back to both the bleeding to death and you not feeling in control. Its only information, again i don't know you but try your best to apply it to your situation. Dreams can be tricky. In my experience nihilists do not make statements on belief as such, they simply declare that any value system derived from traditional sources are invalid. It tends to be a moral stand while agnostics in both flavors withhold judgment in the absence of evidence. Last night I dreamed that some country (not sure which one) started dropping bombs in Michigan (I live in Michigan). I was with a bunch of people and we all started running to find a safe place. Bombs kept going off right next to me. All of a sudden I found myself at my step dad's house and a huge tsunami was coming towards the house. I got in my car and drove as fast as I could to get away. I tried calling my sisters and my step dad to see if they were ok but couldn't find them. I called my mom (who now lives in Texas) and she started to panic. Suddenly my sister called me and said she was safe at work and so was my step dad but my other sister couldn't be found. Next thing I know I was at the house again and went inside. I looked out the window and I seen my sister, her dog and her cat sitting on a raft on top of several feet of water. I got her in thru the window and we were all safe but I said to her "Maybe the end of the world is coming". Then I woke up. I'm a strong believer in the paranormal but I don't believe all the mumbo jumbo about the world ending. What could this mean?

Hopefully they won't just put you on pills, which is how a lot of them operate nowadays, as the pharmaceutical companies tend to "control" the docs these days...as people of your age sometimes get more depressed from the pills, actually. But, if you are actively working to feel better, that is a step in the right direction. Read, "Trance-Formation of America" if you can, to learn about others who get that BLANK feeling because their minds were traumatised previously. You probably won't believe this, but it is often a parent--frequently a father--who was brainwashing and/or molesting the victim, yes, even a boy! But, if you HAVE been Mind Kontrolled, you will probably deny this vehemently. Avoid alcohol and sugar and try to get lots of healthy exercise and rest. My (male!!) cousin hurt my head!!!!!!!?

im 18 im a girl & a few months ago i hit my head hard on the cement then i hit it hard on the cement again just a few days later (both were from skateboarding). basically my heads gone through alot the past year and i dont think its fully healed yet. i really shook it up bad :( but it had finally started getting better (after constant pain for months). but then, a week ago, my cousin (hes 17 hes just barely younger than me) he was being mean to me and trying to get his point across and he poked me on my head twice (hard!!!!) and it hurt soooooo bad but not bad enough that i yelled at him at the time or anything because even though it hurt it wasnt unbearable or anything. but then that night came the hell. i was hanging out with two of my bestfriends when all of a sudden i felt this sharp pain right where he poked me. the pain wouldnt stop, it got so bad i actually had to head out & go home the pain was acutally that bad that i had to comepletely end the night early (& it takes a LOT of pain to make me stop what im doing) the pain is terrible ive been in a living hell for the past week and for the first few days i could hear a cracking in my head right where he had poked me the pain is unbelieveable my head is shaken up sooooo bad. the blood rushes around & all this weird i stuff now. im terrified i dont know what to do. my mom took me to the hospital but after like four hours of waiting i was just ready to go home so i didnt end up seeing a doctor. so basically i hate my cousin & i wanna kick his ***. i dont know what to do. i hate him so bad he shouldnt do stuff to peoples heads like that i would NEVER touch anyones head because you dont know what theyre heads going through like wether its a slight headache or severe pain, you just never know so you shouldnt go around hitting people on theyre heads. im in so much pain, its unbareable, i want a rock thrown at his head or something :( what should i do? how should i get revenge? he shouldnt have done that to my head he weighs like 200LBS im 105 im weak

I think morals are practical and useful. I honestly can't imagine a society without ANY kind of morals. People need to have rules to govern their baser impulses. Otherwise we have no society. It seems to me like a lot of people want to live in a dream world where "enlightened" people can literally do whatever they want however and whenever they want, just because there are some rules in their current culture that they don't like. As long as the world has more than two people, there's going to be arguments, and as long as there are arguments, there needs to be some way to resolve them. And people? They don't resolve their conflicts simply or easily, there's too much stress and anger in the world for that.

Unfortunately, a girl or guy might care about a classmate and be mentally attracted, but would not consider going out with person because the physical is not there. So, if she feels that way, you are not going to get anywhere with her. I think she is confused about how she feels since she hasn't flat told you to bug off. I do it to and thats because this website is for real answers and when i ask a question on here it is always for a serious answer so when people are rude it is very annoying and I also find it offensive because its like they are putting me down and making me feel like I asked the stupidest question in the world.
